Winter Wonderland!

 We loved celebrating Winter Wonderland today with a special magic show and craft!  Thank you to all our parent volunteers for making it a fun day!

Math Thinking!

 Students have been working hard learning multiplication this week!  They spent lots of time working together at their VNPs and sharing their strategies with each other!

Veterans Day!

 We were so lucky to host a veteran today for a classroom visit!  We learned so much about serving in the military.  We thank him for his service!

Halloween Fun!

 We had a great time celebrating Halloween this week!

Building Fact Fluency!

 Today, students participated in a fact fluency lesson that focused on multiplication.  They did an excellent job sharing their observations and questions.  At the end, they shared various strategies for solving the problem.

Pajama and Stuffy Party!

 The class did a wonderful job filling up their class reward jar!  To celebrate, we had a pajama and stuffy party!

More Weather Research!

 Students continued working hard in the LMC on their extreme weather research!  They used online resources to find out key information about their topic.

 Students loved working in small groups today during math! They did a great job working together and proving their answers!

Weather Research!

 We were very excited to start our extreme weather research in the LMC today!  Students did a great job working together!

Learning in 3-2!

 This week, students learned different mental math strategies for solving addition problems.  We used snap cubes to represent 10 in different ways.  In word study, we focused on digraphs and the sounds they make.  At the end of the week, students sent their Flat Stanleys on their way!

 Today, we played a fun math game to practice comparing numbers!

Our Classroom Charter

 This week during SEL, we finished creating our classroom charter!  Students did a wonderful job brainstorming actions we can take to ensure our classmates feel a certain way! (safe, respected, included, calm, happy, & confident)

Reading and Word Study Fun!

 Students have been doing a great job learning the routines of reading workshop!  This week, they practiced reading just-right books and responding to what they read.  They enjoyed sharing their thoughts with a partner.  During word study, we focused on words with short vowel sounds.

Chromebook Boot Camp!

 Our class was so excited to start using their chrome books!  Mrs. Goldstein came to our classroom and taught us how to use this very exciting learning tool!  Students practiced logging in and using the track pad.  They also reviewed digital citizenship and how to be responsible when using their devices.

Dolphin Do's!

 On Wednesday, we participated in a deep dive of the Dolphin Do's with Mrs. Sessler and Dr. Glass!  We reviewed how to be ready, be safe, and be mindful during different parts of our school day!

Fact Fluency Practice!

 We had our first fact fluency lesson today!  Students did an excellent job participating in a 3-act task about toy bikes.  They estimated and used various strategies to solve a problem.  After, they worked in pairs to play a fact fluency game that focused on multiplication facts!
